John's Island·New custom home
A John's Island custom home built with Moor, Baker & Associates Architects, P.A., its cabinetry and millwork custom milled for the house.
Much of the craft in this John's Island home is invisible, and that is what we find most beautiful about it. The custom elements sit so seamlessly inside the architecture that you would not register them unless you knew what to look for, which is the hardest kind of detail to execute and the easiest to walk past.
The house was built in collaboration with Moor, Baker & Associates Architects, P.A. Its cabinetry was custom milled for these rooms rather than ordered in, and the same care carried through the custom millwork detail elsewhere in the interior. A plaster vaulted ceiling sits overhead, a lighting automation system runs out of sight behind it, and a custom pool anchors the exterior.
Nothing here was left to a stock solution. Every nook and corner of the plan was thought through before any of it was built.
